Scripture Reading: Romans 3:23 (KJV)
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
John 3:18
“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only‑begotten Son of God.”
You don’t have to choose the broad way to be on it. We are all born on it. Sin is not just what we do; it’s what we are by nature apart from Christ. Romans 3:23 includes every one of us — “all have sinned.”
John 3:18 tells us that the person who has not believed in Christ is “condemned already.” That means doing nothing with Jesus is not neutral; it is rejection. The default setting of the human heart is not heaven-bound. It is hell-bound.
This sounds harsh until we remember that God, in His mercy, has provided a way off that road. He has sent His Son, Jesus, who lived perfectly, died for our sins, and rose again. The narrow way is open because Christ paid the price.
Ignoring Christ, postponing Christ, or “respecting” Christ without trusting Him — all of it keeps you on the broad road. Salvation is not automatic. It is personally received.
Holy God, I confess that by nature I am a sinner and fall short of Your glory. I do not deserve heaven. Thank You for showing me that doing nothing with Jesus is itself a deadly decision. Work in my heart so that I do not delay or ignore Your offer of salvation. Draw me fully to Christ. In His name I pray, Amen.
If you are unsure of your salvation, set aside 10–15 quiet minutes today. Read John 3:16–18 and Romans 10:9–10 (KJV). If you are ready, call out to the Lord in your own words, confessing your sin and trusting Christ alone to save you. If you are sure you’re saved, thank God specifically for rescuing you from being “condemned already.”
