Scripture: Acts 4:31, 33 (KJV)
“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. …
And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.”
Devotional
The disciples who once hid for fear of the Jews are now standing in public, boldly preaching Christ. What changed? They had encountered the risen Jesus, received the Holy Ghost, and were now living in resurrection power.
Notice the pattern:
Resurrection power is not just for special moments; it is for everyday obedience—speaking when it’s hard, loving when it’s costly, going when it’s risky, standing firm when it’s unpopular. The same Spirit who worked in Acts 4 lives in you if you belong to Christ.
Our world is full of people the world has written off—“no hope,” “too far gone,” “not worth the effort.” But God delights to perform miracles in lives that others have thrown away. Our part is to speak the Word; His part is to do the work.
Reflection
Do I really believe that the Holy Ghost in me is stronger than the world around me? Where have I been more controlled by fear, comfort, or excuses than by resurrection power?
Prayer
O God,
Thank You for the resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead and now lives in Your people. Forgive me for living as though I am powerless, when Your Spirit dwells within me. Teach me to pray earnestly, to rely on the Holy Ghost, and to speak Your Word with boldness. Let great grace be upon me, my family, and my church as we bear witness to the risen Lord Jesus. Use me to reach those whom the world has given up on. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Action
Today, before you begin your normal activities, stop and pray Acts 4:31 in your own words: ask God to fill you with the Holy Ghost and give you boldness to speak His Word. Then intentionally look for one opportunity to share something about Jesus—His peace, His love, or His resurrection—with someone you encounter. Afterward, thank God for using you, no matter how small it seemed.
