Scripture Reading (KJV)
Romans 8:31–32
“What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”

Devotional
The sermon emphasized this powerful truth: God is not against you; He is for you. Behind every circumstance, even the confusing and painful ones, God is shaping you and conforming you to Christ.

The preacher gave an illustration: “God, why are You taking me through deep water?” And the answer: “Because your enemy can’t swim.” Sometimes the very thing that feels like it will drown you is what God is using to protect you and defeat what’s against you.

God has already given you His greatest gift—His Son, Jesus Christ. If He did not spare His own Son, why would He suddenly become stingy or cruel in anything else? “How shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” These “all things” are not luxuries and worldly prosperity, but everything you truly need to live for Him—grace, strength, wisdom, daily provision.

If God is for you, no person, no circumstance, no demonic power, and not even your own past can ultimately stand against what God has purposed. Others may oppose you; life may press you; Satan may accuse you—but God’s final word over you is favor, not failure.

Reflection

  • Do I live more aware of who is against me or of the truth that God is for me?
  • What changes in my thinking or attitude if I really believe “If God be for us, who can be against us?”

Prayer
Father,
Thank You for being for me. Thank You for giving Your only begotten Son for my salvation. When I feel surrounded by problems, people, or fears, remind me that none of them are greater than You. Help me to trust that You will freely give me everything I need to live for You today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action
List three things that feel “against” you right now (fears, people, problems). Next to each one, write: “But God is for me.” Keep this list where you’ll see it today, and when worry rises, repeat Romans 8:31 out loud.
