Scripture Reading: Esther 4:13–14 (KJV)
“Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’s house, more than all the Jews.
For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

Devotional
The sermon ended by echoing Mordecai’s words to Esther: “You were created for such a time as this.” That same truth hovered over Moses’ life. God preserved his life as a baby, placed him in Pharaoh’s palace for education and influence, sent him into the wilderness for forty years of humbling, then called him at eighty years old from a burning bush to lead His people out of bondage.

Eighty years of providence prepared a man for a mission that would change history.

Likewise, Esther was placed as queen in a pagan court, not to live in comfort but to stand in the gap for her people. God’s providence is never random; it is always purposeful. And His purposes are often bigger than our own comfort or plans.

You are in your family, in your workplace, in your church, in your nation, in this declining culture—not by accident, but by design. Perhaps you are the only serious believer in your family, or one of the few in your workplace, or discouraged by the state of the church. Yet it may be precisely for this time and these people that God has placed you there.

Providence brings responsibility. Moses had to go to Pharaoh. Esther had to risk going to the king. You and I must be willing to say, “Lord, what would Your hand have me do right now?”

Reflection

  • Where has God uniquely placed me (family, job, neighborhood, church) where I may be His witness “for such a time as this”?
  • What step of obedience or courage have I been hesitating to take?

Prayer
Lord God,
Thank You that my times are in Your hand. Help me to see my generation, my family, my church, and my circumstances as part of Your providential plan, not as accidents. Give me the courage of Moses and Esther, to stand where You place me and to speak and act as You lead, even when it is costly. Show me clearly what obedience looks like “for such a time as this,” and strengthen me to do it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action
Identify one concrete way you can act “for such a time as this” this week:

  • sharing the gospel with a specific person,
  • starting or joining a prayer group,
  • serving in a ministry at your church,
  • initiating family devotions,
  • or reconciling with someone.

Write it down, set a specific day and time to do it, and pray daily until you carry it out.
