Scripture Reading: John 14:6 (KJV)
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Acts 4:12
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
The gate is narrow because the way is exclusive. Jesus does not say, “I am a way.” He says, “I am the way.” There is no salvation in any other name, no other mediator, no other road that leads to the Father.
This offends our culture, but it is the clear teaching of Scripture. The God who designed salvation has the right to define it. He has provided one perfect, sufficient Savior. To ask for “another way” is to say the cross was not enough.
Entering the narrow gate is a decisive act of faith: turning from sin and self to trust in Christ alone. Walking the narrow way is a daily act of obedience: following Jesus’ teaching, even when the crowd goes the other way.
The good news is that while the way is narrow, the Savior is strong. He keeps His own. He walks with you. And at the end of this road is life — eternal, joyful, abundant life with Him.
Lord Jesus, I confess that You are the only way, the truth, and the life. I renounce any hope in myself, my goodness, or my religion, and I place my trust in You alone. Help me to walk the narrow way daily, guided by Your Word and strengthened by Your Spirit. Keep me faithful until I see You face to face. In Your name I pray, Amen.
If you have never clearly trusted Christ, do so now:
If you are already saved, choose one specific area (time, money, entertainment, relationships) and ask, “What would obedience on the narrow way look like here?” Then take one concrete step of obedience today.
