Devotional

Paul’s instruction to Titus begins with a clear command: speak what lines up with sound doctrine. In a world full of changing opinions, shifting morals, and watered-down truth, God’s Word remains unchanged. The Christian life cannot be built on feelings, traditions, culture, or convenience. It must be built on “thus saith the Lord.”

If we claim to follow Christ, we must know what He says. Sound doctrine is not just for preachers or teachers—it is for every believer. We need the Word of God in our hearts so that when Satan tempts, confuses, or accuses, we can answer like Jesus did: “It is written.”

A Christian who is not grounded in Scripture is easily shaken. But one who stands on the Word stands on a foundation that storms cannot destroy.

Reflection

  • Do I know what I believe from Scripture, or only from what I have heard others say?
  • Am I building my life on God’s Word or on the opinions of the world?
  • When temptation comes, can I answer with truth from Scripture?

Prayer

Lord, help me to love Your Word and stand firmly on it. Teach me sound doctrine. Keep me from being deceived by false teaching or worldly thinking. Plant my feet on the solid foundation of Your truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
