Scripture (KJV)
John 20:21–22
“Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost.

Devotional
The resurrection is not just a celebration; it is a commission. The One who died and rose now sends His followers into the world: “As my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”

Jesus was sent:

  • In love, to a lost and hostile world.
  • In obedience, to do the Father’s will.
  • In power, anointed by the Spirit.

Now He says, “I send you the same way.” The message we carry is clear: Christ died, was buried, and rose again—and because He lives, there is forgiveness of sin and peace with God for “whosoever believeth in him.”

We are not sent in our own strength. Jesus breathed on them and said, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost.” The same Spirit who empowered the early disciples to speak boldly—despite threats, persecution, and hardship—dwells in every believer today.

If the Lord of glory has conquered death for us, can we really be content to stay silent about Him? The empty tomb is not only our comfort; it is our marching orders.

Reflection
Do I see myself as “sent” by Jesus into my workplace, school, family, and neighborhood? Or do I treat my faith as a private matter? Where might God be nudging me to share the hope of Christ?

Prayer
Father,
Thank You for sending Your Son into this world to save sinners like me. Lord Jesus, thank You for sending me, not in my own power, but in the power of the Holy Ghost. Forgive me for being silent when I should speak and for being comfortable when I should go. Fill me afresh with Your Spirit. Give me boldness, wisdom, and love to share the good news of Your death and resurrection with those around me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action
Ask God to put one specific person on your heart today—a coworker, neighbor, family member, or friend. Pray for that person by name. Then take one intentional step: send a message, make a call, invite them to church, or share a brief testimony of what Jesus has done in your life.
