“For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
Paul did not measure his life by comfort, popularity, or ease. He measured it by faithfulness. Near the end of his life, he could say, “I have fought… I have finished… I have kept.” That is the testimony of a believer who lived with eternity in view.
The Christian life is not a short sprint; it is a long race of obedience, endurance, and faith. There will be wounds, weariness, setbacks, and opposition. But God did not save us merely to start the race—He saved us to finish it.
Finishing well does not mean living perfectly. It means continuing faithfully. It means getting back up when you fall, trusting Christ when life hurts, and keeping your eyes on the crown that only the Lord can give.
If your life ended today, could you honestly say, “I have kept the faith”? What area of your walk with Christ needs renewed endurance?
Lord, help me to finish well. Strengthen me when I am tired, correct me when I drift, and keep my eyes fixed on Jesus. May my life be faithful to the end. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Write down one area where you have been tempted to quit spiritually. Pray over it today and ask God for strength to continue.
