Scripture Reading: Romans 12:2 (KJV)

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Devotional

The world is constantly trying to shape the way we think. Through entertainment, social media, opinions, fear, comparison, and temptation, our minds can be pulled away from God before we even realize it.

Paul tells believers not to be “conformed” to this world. That means we are not to let the world press us into its mold. Instead, we are to be “transformed” by the renewing of our minds. This transformation does not happen by willpower alone. It happens as we yield ourselves to God and allow His Word to change the way we think, desire, respond, and live.

A renewed mind helps us see clearly. It helps us recognize God’s will as good, acceptable, and perfect. When our minds are fixed on the world, obedience can feel like a burden. But when our minds are renewed in Christ, we begin to see that God’s ways are freedom.

Reflection

What is currently shaping your thoughts the most: God’s Word or the world’s influence?

Prayer

Lord, renew my mind today. Help me not to be shaped by the patterns of this world, but transformed by Your truth. Teach me to love Your will and trust that Your way is good, acceptable, and perfect. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Action

Identify one worldly influence that has been distracting your mind from God. Limit or remove it today, and replace that time with Scripture, prayer, or worship.
