Scripture Reading: Luke 3:4-5 (KJV)
"As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth."
Devotional:
John the Baptist's call to "prepare the way of the Lord" is a powerful reminder for us today, as we seek personal and communal revival. Preparing our hearts begins with introspection and repentance, clearing the obstacles that prevent us from experiencing God fully. The path must be made straight—not through our power, but by allowing God's transformative grace to fill our valleys of doubt and lower the mountains of pride.
Reflection*:
Consider areas in your life that need leveling. Are there obstacles or sins that prevent you from drawing closer to God?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to prepare my heart for Your presence. Show me the valleys and mountains in my life that need Your touch. May my heart be a straight path for Your Spirit. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Action:
Spend time in quiet reflection and make a list of spiritual obstacles in your life. Pray over each one, asking God for the strength to overcome them.
