“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Many believers live chained to regrets even after Christ has forgiven them. The enemy loves to remind us of our past, but God calls us to press forward in grace.
Paul had a painful past. Before he preached Christ, he persecuted Christians. Yet he did not allow his past to keep him from fulfilling God’s calling. He received grace, walked in forgiveness, and pressed toward the mark.
You cannot go back and rewrite yesterday, but you can walk with Christ today. The blood of Jesus is greater than your failure. If God has forgiven you, you do not have to live imprisoned by what He has already cleansed.
What regret have you been carrying that Christ has already forgiven? Are you willing to release it to Him?
Lord Jesus, thank You for forgiving my sin and cleansing my past. Help me to stop living under condemnation and start walking in the freedom You purchased for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Write down one regret or failure that still burdens you. Then write over it: “Forgiven by Jesus.” Keep it as a reminder—or tear it up as an act of surrender.
