Scripture Reading: 2 Timothy 4:5 KJV

“But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”

Devotional

Paul did not promise Timothy an easy road. He told him to watch, endure, work, and fulfill his ministry. The call of God does not remove hardship, but it gives purpose in hardship.

Trials do not mean God has abandoned you. Sometimes the valley is where the deepest roots grow. Faith that is never tested remains shallow, but faith that endures becomes strong.

The world may reject the message of Christ. People may misunderstand you. Obedience may cost you something. But the believer is not called to comfort first—we are called to faithfulness first.

Reflection

How do you usually respond when following Christ becomes difficult? Do you endure, or do you withdraw?

Prayer

God, give me courage to keep the faith when life is hard. Help me endure affliction without losing heart. Make me faithful in the work You have given me to do. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Action

Encourage another believer today who may be struggling. Send a message, make a call, or pray with them.
